Just wanted to thank you both, our holiday last week was fantastic, even if the weather was bad on most days. The accommodation was beautiful and the setting stunning.
Many many thanks for a wonderful week and we hope to be back again in May.

Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed staying at Blackthorn Gate. The Lodge was superb and the surroundings incredible. Climbing up Roseberry Topping was so invigorating and James particularly liked looking from the lodge and saying “I climbed up there”. James says hello to Finlay & James (the two brown chicks he named). The kestrels that greeted us when leaving and returning each day added an very special dimension and seeing them use the drive as a runway was fantastic. You’ve created the perfect “getaway”, thank you again.

A most enjoyable and relaxing week, love the lodge, so different from the normal holiday cottage accomodation! Would love to have a return visit sometime!

We have had a smashing time. The Lodge is wonderful, the view to die for and watching the new lambs enchanting. we made the walk to the top of Roseberry Topping and returned for the best nights sleep in ages.

Two breaks in one. The boys really loved the lodge, the excitement of the upstairs balcony and a bunk bed with a double bed underneath. They took it in turns to sleep on the bottom.The boys played table tennis , pool,air hockey and table football. Great idea for drizzley days., and for us we could relive our trek of 20 years ago climbing to the top of Roseberry Topping. We came down the easy way though at the back of the hill.

What a fantastic weekend!! This is the most relaxing place we have ever stayed and we'll be back for many more great times. Our first weekend away together couldn't have been better anywhere else!! Views are fab, everything you need is provided. Perfect attention to detail.

Fantastic lodge for chilling out and exploring the area. Would recommend the sauna after a busy day. Views beautiful whatever the weather and we did get a mixed bag.

My complaint- this lodge is just far too nice to leave-grr!! from the moment my parents and I walked into the lodge we fell in love with it. Its clean , tidy, modern and an amazing base for so many places to visit!

It was very easy to feel at home in Lapwing from the minute we arrived. Both Rita and Mike made us extremely welcome, besides which the quality and layout of the lodge suited us to perfection. It will be virtually impossible to find another accommodation such as this so when in Yorkshire we will certainly hope to stay here again

We had a wonderful time here. You must get up for the sunrise over Roseberry Topping as it's beautiful at the moment. Mike & Rita' hospitality is second to none and makes the stay all the more enjoyable
